Capcom announced this morning that a new Resident Evil 6 demo will be available for download on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 starting on September 18th.

Unlike the previous RE 6 demo, which was restricted to Dragon’s Dogma Xbox 360 owners, this one can be downloaded by anyone and is comprised of completely different content from each of the three campaigns.

Leon and Helena’s demo will have players explore the grounds of Ivy University, after a bioterrorist attack. Jake and Sherry’s demo takes place on the streets of Lanshiange, where they have to fight off attacking J’avo. Finally, Chris and Piers’ demo takes place in the war-torn streets of Edonia, as the pair battle the 3-story tall B.O.W. Ogroman.

Each of the three Resident Evil 6 missions in the demo can be played in single-player, or they can played using the online co-op system found within the full game.

Capcom also revealed that owners of the PlayStation 3 version of Dragon’s Dogma will be able to download the original RE 6 demo starting tomorrow, September 5th, through a token redemption on the PlayStation Store.

Resident Evil 6 will release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 across Europe and North America on October 2. A PC version is said to follow “soon” after.
