Lionsgate has slowly been quenching our thirst for information over the past few months with casting updates on some of our newest literary favorites coming to the big screen next year in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Today, the studio has announced that the character of Beetee will be played by Tony Award winning actor, Jeffrey Wright. For those who don’t know, Beetee is the resident electrical expert and former victor from District 3. The character is nicknamed “Volts” by another victor during the 75th annual Hunger Games.

Wright has appeared in theater productions, television programs, and film projects which have earned him quite a reputation for being a versatile actor. He won a Tony Award for his part in Angels in America and appeared in the HBO mini-series of the same name which only brough more accolades his way. Recently, you may have seen him in Source Code, The Ides of March, and Extremely Loud & Incredible Close.

Before The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits theaters next November 22nd, you can catch Wright in the political thriller, Broken City, alongside Mark Walhberg, Russell Crowe and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

How do you think Jeffrey Wright will fare as Beetee in the next Hunger Games? Let us know in the comments.
