Nano Assault Neo Is A Wii U Launch Window Title To Keep An Eye On

Yesterday, it was revealed that Shin'en will be bringing Nano Assault Neo to Nintendo's Wii U. However, no details were announced, and only a bit of media was shown. As a result, we're left to wonder whether it's a sequel to the series' great-looking and solid 3DS debut, or some sort of a console remake. Frankly, either one would be fine, as the good news here is that the franchise will get more publicity, especially since Neo is confirmed as a launch window title for Nintendo's new device.

Yesterday, it was revealed that Shin’en will be bringing Nano Assault Neo to Nintendo’s Wii U. However, no details were announced, and only a bit of media was shown. As a result, we’re left to wonder whether it’s a sequel to the series’ great-looking and solid 3DS debut, or some sort of a console remake. Frankly, either one would be fine, as the good news here is that the franchise will get more publicity, especially since Neo is confirmed as a launch window title for Nintendo’s new device.

In the original game, players were tasked with defeating a virus through the use of three-dimensional arcade shooting mechanics which bore similarities to Super Stardust HD. Although some depth-filled flight stages were included, the majority of the action took place on different surfaces, wherein the goal almost always related to taking out every enemy in the area. Needless to say, it was rather retro-inspired, and the formula worked quite well. You can read my review here.

As long as everything goes well, Nano Assault Neo should arrive sometime between November 18 and March 2013.
