First Poster For Ben Affleck’s Argo

Released today is the first official poster for Ben Affleck’s Oscar-hopeful film Argo, set to hit theatres in October. Early buzz from TIFF is pointing towards a warm reception for the film when it’s released. Almost all of the early reviews are offering up much praise and from everything we’ve seen, I think Big Ben has outdone himself here.

I’ve been a big fan of Affleck’s career change and for me, he gets better as a director with each film. Gone Baby Gone showed a ton of promise and The Town  completely blew me away. Judging from the trailer for Argo, I really do believe the early reviews, which are calling it Affleck’s best work yet.

For those unfamiliar with the film, it presents the true story of “the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis–the truth of which was unknown by the public for decades.”

It sounds like an excellent premise for a film and with Ben Affleck behind and in front of the camera, and supporting actors like Bryan Cranston and John Goodman at his side, I don’t see how anything can go wrong.

Argo hits theatres on October 12th, 2012.
