Melissa McCarthy Becomes One Of The Boys In The Hangover Part III

Star of Bridesmaids and the series Mike and Molly, Melissa McCarthy is the latest addition to the casting line up for The Hangover Part III. In a film franchise sorely lacking in female cast members, McCarthy’s comedic brilliance will be most welcome, although nothing has been revealed yet in regards to her character.

As the first two entries of The Hangover franchise concerned themselves with the vulgarities of men when they take to the demon soup – the women of cinema retorted with Bridesmaids, which demolished the notion that for women in film to be funny they cannot have diarrhoea. This is simply untrue.

As McCarthy led most of Bridesmaids’ best set pieces as Megan, we can only hope she too will run rampant with returning cast stalwarts Bradley Cooper, Ed Helm, Zach Galifianakis and newly-appointed villain, John Goodman.

With plenty of opportunities for more cameos to pop up, we’ll keep you posted on who else joins the ensemble cast.

The Hangover Part III opens on May 24th, 2013.
