NBC must be feeling pretty good about their new Bad Robot produced series Revolution because they’re ready to team-up with J.J. Abrams again on a new sci-fi premise, this time from the mind of Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban).

Warner Bros. TV and Abrams’ Bad Robot will produce, with Cuarón directing from a script co-written by himself and Mark Friedman. The high-concept series will center on a girl who has special powers of some kind that will fully come to fruition in seven years. She is placed under the protection of a man recently sprung from prison who will attempt to shield her from those trying to hunt her down.

Sounds kind of like the plot for Cuarón’s Children of Men, except with more of a sci-fi tinge to it. That’s fine by me. I loved Children of Men, and have been patiently waiting for more material from Cuarón to show up since WB doesn’t seem to know what to do with his newest film, Gravity.

With the minds of both Abrams and Cuarón at the helm, I can’t see much going wrong with this one. It sounds incredibly enticing and as always, we’ll be sure to keep you posted as more news arises.
