With all the commotion surrounding Danny Boyle and the London Olympics, people seem to have forgotten that the director actually has a new and very exciting movie in the works. Titled Trance, the film went into production last year but post-production was delayed until after Boyle’s Olympic duties were finished.

Today, we have some photos from the set that serve as a reminder that Trance is still on its way and Boyle hasn’t forgotten about it. With James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson and Vincent Cassel in the starring roles, there’s a lot of reasons to look forward to this one.

The film follows “an assistant at an auction house (McAvoy) who masterminds a heist and teams up with a gang of thieves led by Cassel, only to suffer a blow to the head and wake up with amnesia. As the only person who knew the location of the stolen painting, the assistant is then subjected to analysis from a hypnotist as the gang begin to suspect duplicity.”

I must admit, Trance sounds very promising and Boyle is always an exciting filmmaker, especially when he moves into new genres. The Beach aside, the director has never disappointed and I don’t think Trance will be a let down. Not only do I love heist films but the cast, and Boyle, make this project that much more exciting.

No word on an official release date but Danny Boyle has said that it will arrive sometime in 2013. As always we’ll keep you posted as more news arises.
