Square Enix have trademarked a new final fantasy game named Type-0 on the European Trademark Database but as well as the name they have also filed a logo for it. Written in kanji the logo simply says “Type-0”.

The find by Siliconera, comes only weeks away from the Square Enix 1st Production Department Premiere on January 18th being held in the Toho Cinemas Theatre in Roppongi Hills. Whether any details of the game will be released then is anyone’s guess but it has started some fans speculating that it may be a reboot of the franchise.

More likely though is that it’s another spin off from the series but again who knows what Type-0 could turn out to be. If the confirmed games of Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy Agito XIII, Dissidia 012 Duodecim Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts 3D weren’t reason enough to make you keep an eye on the event then the chance to find out what Type-0 is might be. We’ll keep you up to date on any new Type-0 details as well as the goings on at Square Enix big event on the 18th.

What do you think Final Fantasy Type-0 could be or are you even interested in what could be another Final Fantasy spinoff? Let us know in the comments.
