Quentin Tarantino will have a cameo role in his upcoming film Django Unchained, according to an interview with CSI: Miami actor Rex Linn, who will play Tennessee Harry in the film.

In an interview with Look At OKC, Linn said:

“Quentin told me that he liked the scene so much he wanted to be in it, too, and that he would also be taking some of my lines.” Linn confirmed, “So, you’ll know the scenes when you see them. We’ll be on the screen with Don Johnson and Jonah Hill. The scenes may not be long, but you will remember them.”

Django Unchained wrapped its reportedly 130-day-long shoot earlier this summer, and the production saw the exit and replacement of actors Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kevin Costner, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kurt Russell and Anthony LaPaglia.

It should come as no surprise that Quentin Tarantino chose to grab a role for himself in the film; he’s played small roles in Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Death Proof, and has had his voice and likeness pop up in Jackie Brown and Inglourious Basterds.

In addition to appearing in Django Unchained, Tarantino may also be showing up in Australia soon (the continent, not that Hugh Jackman/Nicole Kidman movie). Tarantino’s friend and Australian Wolf Creek star John Jarratt, told the Herald Sun the following:

“Tarantino wants to make this Australian film and I’ll keep kicking him until he does.” Jarratt added that, “He’s told me he likes tough grittiness…the kicking and scratching kind of movies we make that I think helped inspire movies like Reservoir Dogs and Inglourious Basterds. He likes the way we make movies and likes the way we make low-budget movies that look a trillion dollars and stand up next to the Bruce Willis movie next door.”

We don’t have anymore details on the project just yet but when we do we’ll be sure to let you know.

Django Unchained is set for a Christmas release date.
