It’s almost time for Halloween, and with that comes a new entry in the found footage series Paranormal Activity. Speaking of which, a new trailer for the latest sequel, Paranormal Activity 4, was released today.

In last year’s prequel, directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman went back in time to show us the beginning of Katie’s ordeal with the apparition that tore her family apart. With the fourth entry into the series, they return to the present to show us what Katie and Hunter have been up to since the events of Paranormal Activity 2.

In the new film, we’re introduced to a young girl named Alice as she begins to experience and document the strange happenings that have started to occur in and around her house ever since a woman and child moved into the neighborhood. After some sort of incident, the young boy named Robbie is taken in by Alice’s mother and that’s when the real terror starts.

I’ve always been a fan of the Paranormal Activity series as I find it refreshing to have a horror film that doesn’t rely on physical torture or the forced scares that have been so popular lately. With these films, the filmmakers use real suspense and creativity to make you jump out of your seat, which is appreciated. I realize that the series may not be for everyone but I happen to really enjoy these films.

I imagine that they’re wrapping up the story with Paranormal Activity 4 as I can’t think of anywhere else it could go once the Katie/Hunter loose end is tied up. That being said, I’d like to see the series go on, these films have turned into a favorite holiday tradition for me and I’d definitely welcome a fifth one.

Are you looking forward to Paranormal Activity 4? Would you like to see the series continue? Let us know in the comments below.
