Retro City Rampage has been in development for a very long time (Work on the project started in 2002), but the wait for its release is about to end.

The downloadable 8-bit styled open-world game has been confirmed for a release on Tuesday, October 9, with the PS3, Vita, and PC versions launching that day.

The game will cost $14.99 and those who purchase the game on PlayStation Network will get both the PS3 and Vita versions at no extra cost, while PC gamers will be able to purchase it through GOG.com, Steam, or directly through the game’s official website.

The game is still scheduled for a future release on both Xbox Live Arcade and WiiWare. No specific dates have been given, but head developer Brian Provinciano has said that the WiiWare release will come soon after the October 9 launch, while the Xbox version still needs its release date finalized.
