On top of the interesting story, there’s also the amazing talent involved, which includes an Academy Award-winning director and a two-time Academy Award-winning actor in the lead role. Simply put, this film has a ton of potential.

For those unfamiliar with the film, take a look at the official synopsis:

In this action-packed mystery thriller, Academy Award winner Denzel Washington stars as Whip Whitaker, a seasoned airline pilot who miraculously crash-lands his plane after a mid-air catastrophe, saving nearly every soul on board. After the crash, Whip is hailed as a hero, but as more is learned, more questions than answers arise as to who or what was really at fault, and what really happened on that plane.

The film is set to close out the New York Film Festival, so it won’t be too much longer before we get the first reactions to Flight, which many are already eying as a possible Oscar contender.

Flight opens in theaters everywhere on November 2nd.
