The sleuthing trophy finders were correct: the name of Gearbox Software’s first Borderlands 2 expansion is, in fact, Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty.

On top of the add-on’s name, we now know its release date. You’ll be surprised to hear that it’s only a mere few days from launching on Xbox LIVE, the PlayStation Network and PC, as it will become available this Tuesday, October 16.

Pricing details have been announced, and Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty will retail for the expected amount of $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points), though those who’ve purchased the game’s season pass will be able to download the content file for ‘free.’

If you’re wondering about the new location dubbed Oasis, then you’ll be interested to hear that Randy Pitchford has referenced it as being “more like Tatooine than an ocean.” Going further, he’s also confirmed that a new “seraph crystal” currency will be featured within the expansion, as will a neat-looking Sand Skiff vehicle that is similar to the ones found in Star Wars.

Check out the screenshots below and let us know if you’ll be picking it up.
