With Breaking Bad coming to an end very shortly, Aaron Paul is starting to look for future projects to fill his time. The actor has kept a pretty low profile in the film world to this point but as Entertainment Weekly reports, Paul will attempt to earn a bit more exposure with a starring role in the DreamWorks feature Need For Speed, based on the popular racing videogame series.

Set to be directed by Scott Waugh (Act of Valor), no story details have been revealed as of yet but we do know that the film will take cues from “the entire series rather than one of the individual games.” That being said, the games aren’t exactly too heavy or deep on story, so I’m not expecting much on that front from the film.

Plus, rarely do films based on videogames ever turn out well and nothing about this project inspires hope in me. Yes, Aaron Paul is a very talented actor who will get some much deserved exposure with the film but that aside, I don’t see much good coming from Need for Speed.

Need for Speed lands on February 7th, 2014. Are you looking forward to it? Are you happy that Aaron Paul is starring? Let us know in the comments below.
