New York woman haunts local hospital for months, but hospital staff still don’t know who she is

Mount Sinai’s Morningside Hospital in New York City is pleading for help after caring for a woman for over three months without knowing her identity. Found at a bus stop in Harlem early one April morning, she has remained in the hospital’s care since, but staff still have no clue who she is.

Hospital officials report the patient arrived on April 12, after reports say she was discovered sitting on a bus stop bench at 125th Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem at around 4:45 a.m., according to eyewitnesses. A concerned bystander called 911, and she was transported to the hospital. She has been hospitalized since, yet staff say they still don’t know her name or anything else about her. The hospital says the woman may go by the name “Pam,” though this has not been verified.

Described by Mount Sinai staff as Black, speaking English, approximately 5’8″ tall, weighing around 170 pounds, with dark brown eyes and greying black hair, she appears to be in her late 50s. She reportedly dresses in black and hides her face.

The nature of her medical care has not been disclosed

Despite ongoing medical care, Mount Sinai has not disclosed the reason for her hospitalization, and hospital officials have not revealed any underlying diagnosis or her condition. Hospital officials say she seems familiar with the area near where she was found and hope neighbors might recognize her.
