Kelly Clarkson abruptly puts a pause on her life for her ex-husband after their messy divorce

Kelly had to make a choice and she did what she always does.

Kelly Clarkson has unexpectedly cancelled all of her Las Vegas concerts scheduled for the remainder of August 2024. The singer and talk show host announced the postponement of her Studio Sessions shows on Wednesday evening through a post on X. The cancellation affects multiple performances that were set to take place at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

In her announcement, Clarkson explained that she needs to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Sessions dates in Las Vegas. The affected shows were scheduled for August 8, 9, 15, 16, and 17. Fans who had purchased tickets for these performances will need to wait for rescheduled dates or seek refunds through the appropriate channels.

According to MLive, the singer revealed personal circumstances behind her decision. Clarkson stated that while she normally keeps her personal life private, her children’s father – her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock – has been ill over the past year, and she needs to be fully present for her children at this moment. She expressed sincere apologies to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and thanked them for their grace, kindness, and understanding during this difficult time.

Singer’s Vegas residency faced earlier setbacks with voice issues in July

This is not the first disruption to Clarkson’s Las Vegas residency schedule. Early last month, the performer had to cancel her opening shows due to vocal health concerns. At that time, she explained that the preparation and rehearsals for the Studio Sessions had taken a toll on her voice. She stated that she wanted the shows to be perfect for her fans and needed to protect herself from doing serious damage, which led her to take time off to rest her voice.

The singer continues to struggle with the aftermath of her divorce and has candidly admitted that it has been a painful experience adjusting to life as it is.

Despite the earlier setbacks, Clarkson’s first Vegas show eventually took place on July 11. The performance featured many of her biggest hits that have defined her career since winning American Idol in 2002. The setlist included popular songs such as Walk Away, Breakaway, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Miss Independent, and Since U Been Gone. These performances were designed to create an intimate and extraordinary experience for her fans at the iconic Caesars Palace venue.

While the August dates have been postponed, Clarkson’s November concerts remain on schedule as planned. The Studio Sessions residency was intended to showcase Clarkson’s powerful vocals and extensive catalog of hits in a more intimate setting than her typical arena tours. The residency represents a significant commitment for the artist, who also hosts The Kelly Clarkson Show, which films in New York City after departing from The Voice coaching panel. The cancellation underscores the challenging balance many performers face between their professional obligations and personal responsibilities, particularly when family health issues arise unexpectedly.
