‘That is a children’s playground’: Former Superman Dean Cain’s ICE training is… less than impressive

"Christopher Reeve could have done this course"

There’s a scene in the 1990s TV show Lois & Clark in which Dean Cain‘s Superman is quizzed by an immigration and naturalization government agent and asked to produce his green card. He’s told, “You are an alien, are you not?” Superman looks disgusted that this could even be a question.

Cut to thirty years later, and it’s safe to say the scene plays quite differently to modern audiences. Cain has become increasingly right-wing in recent years and is currently a MAGA die-hard. As such, he answered Kristi Noem’s call for people to join ICE, and the 59-year-old is currently undergoing intensive “training” in Georgia.

Footage of this has now emerged via Fox News and has been widely mocked alone, with a user succinctly pointing out: “That is a children’s playground.”

Or, as another user put it: “Christopher Reeve could have done this f**king course.” Others point out that, in the long run, ICE agents being trained badly benefits us all: “That’s good. It’s not a proper course. Thus, their physical abilities are weak, and pose less of a threat.”

Maybe we live in the ‘Injustice’ universe?

It’s depressing that we live in a world where a screaming and terrified child may find herself being dragged out of an elementary school and tossed into the back of a van, all the while looking up at the face of the guy who was once Superman. Then again, like all ICE agents, he’ll probably be shamefully hiding behind a mask to conceal his identity from the public.

Fortunately, practically every other Superman actor seems like a more decent human being than Dean Cain. Here’s hoping that if and when they have a Kryptonian get-together, Cain’s name is pointedly left off the invitation list.
