Viewers on edge as a Polish train passenger stops everything to retrieve a stranded friend: his goose

We were worried!

FYI, suspenseful footage has gone viral online of a man in Poland boarding a passenger train holding an armload of supplies, a duck in a carrier, and accompanied by a dog. A goose, of all things, is also with the man, and whether or not the bird makes it on board is where the clip takes a dramatic turn.

As the video shows, the man, preoccupied with getting himself settled, is unaware of his feathered friend’s struggles to hop across the gap between the train platform and the track. Before it can gather itself and try again, the door closes. As a train attendant stands by watching helplessly, the bird paces back and forth. Seemingly, it’s about to be left behind.

The happy ending!

Worry not, though, because the doors of the train reopen and the man reemerges to scoop the goose up in his arms — the bird flapping its wings in relief. The train doors close as the attendant turns and smiles at the last moment, as if to say, “Now I’ve seen everything.” And everyone is on their way, safe and sound.

What a relief! A comment on a Reddit post of the footage claimed to know the man, stating, “I saw him in a coffee shop in Warsaw. All his pets (the goose, the dog and the duck) are really well mannered, they got water and chilled out under the table.”

Another thread noted the suspense. It began, “Oh god I was worried lol.” Someone responded, “Yeah that was stressful to watch.” And finally, “First time I’ve yelled, ‘help the f—ing goose!’”
