‘Absurd show of force’: Trump admin may launch missiles at California to disrupt ‘No Kings 2’ protest

They're bringing out the big guns.

Donald Trump and his cronies are hopping mad about this weekend’s “No Kings 2” protests. Millions of Americans who find Trump’s fascistic regime abhorrent are gathering at over 2,500 locations nationwide for what’s being billed as “the largest peaceful protest in American history”.

MAGA politicians have dubbed this the “Hate America Rally”, with Trump himself vowing: “We’ll use every federal power: Insurrection Act if needed, swift arrests, and long prison terms. Law enforcement has my full backing to put them down.”

Mike Johnson went on to say that those present are paid protesters and that anyone attending is effectively a terrorist affiliated with Hamas. So, judging by that response, MAGA is clearly rattled.

Now, as reported by MeidasTouch, the Trump administration is planning to order Navy warships to shoot live missiles into California on the day of the protest. Fortunately, they wouldn’t launch them at the protest itself, but as a “show of force” that would necessitate closing major sections of Interstate 5, resulting in gridlock and chaos, preventing protesters from reaching their destinations.

The justification for the launches is the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps, which is being spearheaded by JD Vance, with the missiles’ target being Camp Pendleton in San Diego County.

“Totally uncalled for”

California Governor and perennial thorn in Trump’s side, Gavin Newsom, was quick to decry this as an “absurd show of force”. Via his press office, he released a statement saying:

“This would be an absurd show of force, and totally uncalled for during a government shutdown when members of the military cannot even get a paycheck.”

You don’t need me to tell you that JD Vance choosing to fire live missiles from a warship at California isn’t simply a way to celebrate the Marines. It’s patently a reminder to Newsom and Californians as a whole that continued dissent will not be tolerated and that, at the push of a button, the President can unleash untold explosive destruction against his fellow Americans.

So stay safe out there this weekend. All evidence points to the Trump administration being eager to stoke chaos and then respond with brutal (possibly even lethal) force against those in attendance.
