‘I need to pay him $6,000’: Driver crashes into another car and demands money on the spot. Then insurance gets involved, and their decision leaves him absolutely speechless

His claim backfire real fast

What started as a regular car accident on a quiet back road quickly turned into something much bigger. One driver refused to accept what really happened and made false claims that could now lead to criminal charges. The whole incident was caught on camera and seen by police, but that didn’t stop one person from lying about what took place.

Kaniye was driving when he tried to pass a car that was moving slowly in front of him. He says the other driver sped up and moved into the wrong lane, which pushed him off the road and onto the grass. Kaniye was able to speed up enough to get back on the road, but when he did, the other driver hit the side of his car. A police officer saw everything happen and pulled both drivers over right away.

The other driver told police that Kaniye had hit him and said he had video proof from his dash cam. After watching the video, police gave both drivers tickets. Kaniye got a ticket for passing where he wasn’t supposed to, and the other driver got a bigger ticket. But then things got worse. “The other guy wanted to demand a payment from me, saying that I need to pay him $6,000 to fix his car and depreciation,” Kaniye said in a video he posted on TikTok.

The truth eventually comes out

The other driver also told people that Kaniye didn’t have insurance and that he drove away from the crash. None of this was true. When the driver said he would take Kaniye to court, Kaniye wasn’t worried because he knew the lies would be proven false. He was right to feel that way.

When the insurance company looked at everything, they made a very clear choice. “The insurance immediately said that he was 100% liable and I was 0% liable,” Kaniye explained. This meant the other driver was completely responsible for the crash. But even after this decision, the other driver still wouldn’t admit he was wrong. He went to the police department and filed a complaint, which brought in the police chief and other officials.

Kaniye says the police found out that the other driver had been lying the whole time and wouldn’t take any blame for what happened. The case has now moved past just an insurance problem. “Now it’s further on into reaching a criminal case now,” Kaniye said. This wasn’t the only time a driver’s behavior after an accident made things significantly worse.

People who lie to insurance companies about accidents can get in serious trouble with the law. This includes saying someone doesn’t have insurance when they really do, or claiming someone drove away when police were actually there. These lies can lead to criminal charges that are treated as serious crimes.

Insurance companies look at many things when they check accident claims. They review police reports, talk to people who saw what happened, and watch any video footage that exists. In most states, the driver who caused the accident has to pay for the damage. When people make false claims about accidents, it costs insurance companies billions of dollars every year. This makes car insurance more expensive for everyone. Similar fights over approved work and unexpected costs have also caused big problems between customers and the people fixing their cars.
