Most people would avoid an empty restaurant, after all, if it were any good there’d be a queue out the door. But sometimes an establishment can surprise you, maybe it’s just not been discovered by the general public yet, or maybe it’s in a location with low footfall. A man on TikTok found this to be the case when he stepped inside Arun Thai Foods in Texas.
SamsPOV is a TikToker who focuses on food from around the world. He has over 450k followers on the platform, and his videos frequently surpass 1 million views. A visit from Sam can really change the trajectory of a business, provided they can offer the right atmosphere and quality food.
Luckily, Arun Thai Foods was able to offer some great dishes along with a warm smile. Upon entering, Sam was immediately met with a friendly face behind the counter. The man, whose name is Dale, greets him and makes conversation while the influencer peruses the menu, he asks Dale “what’s a good appetiser?” to which he responds, “they’re all good.”
The wholesome conversation continues as Sam notices that there’s not an option to add a tip when paying by card, Dale assures him it’s ok and they’re “not big on tips,” but Sam vows to come back with cash to give a tip.
The food itself looks delicious and Sam confirms as such as he eats. When he asks who the chef is, Dale tells him it’s his wife, Tish.
Now all of TikTok wants to visit Arun Thai Foods
Dale reveals that he and his wife opened their restaurant four months ago, which may explain why it’s so quiet, clearly good word-of-mouth hasn’t spread yet. Despite the restaurant seemingly getting no attention, the couple are happy with what they have and the food they provide looks divine.
It looks so good that many of Sam’s followers have vowed to pay a visit to the small business. “Only a 45 min drive! And I’ve been wanting Thai food, is this my sign?” Asked one person, “1 hr 44 min away? See you next weekend!!” Added another.
Meanwhile, others commented on Dale and Tish’s warm and friendly manner, something which really adds to the whole experience. “I’ve known Dale and Tish for a very long time. Truly amazing pure souls,” wrote one, another noted how Dale “is so proud of his wife.” Many also suggested leaving the restaurant glowing reviews.
It seems Arun Thai Foods could well see a wave of eager patrons in the coming days thanks to Sam’s video. If anyone deserves to see their business flourish, it’s these two. Hopefully, it’s not too much for them to handle.
