After a year filled with turmoil and conspiracies it seems Candace Owens might have finally found a middle ground with one of her long-standing foes. Erika Kirk, the widow of the late political commentator Charlie Kirk, confirmed that the two met for hours and found common ground after months of passive-aggressive vitriol from Owens toward Erika and her work colleagues.
One of the more surprising facts about the two influential figures in conservative spaces is that, since Kirk’s death, they had apparently never directly communicated. This is despite both of them having had a close relationship with the late Kirk. Instead, they relied on intermediaries to pass messages to each other, with Owens notably making outrageous claims that somehow Kirk’s murder had something to do with her own issues surrounding claims about Brigitte Macron’s gender.
Owens has gone further with her allegations lately, claiming that Erika has been running Turning Point USA to champion the supposed “deep state” Owens has made a career out of “exposing” with no evidence. But apparently, the meeting went well. According to CNN, the podcast host said, “We agreed much more than I had anticipated. Of course, we also disagreed on various points and people as well. Most importantly, we were able to share intel and clarify intent.”
A short clip was posted on X in which Owens revealed that the meeting lasted four and a half hours. There was no clarity on what the two discussed, although Owens said she plans to reveal everything they talked about in a later podcast episode. It’s unclear whether she plans on having Erika on the episode as well, but Owens did mention that they were both able to impress each other.
Candace Owens says she questioned Erika Kirk on everything from Egyptian airplanes to Turning Point USA faith during a four and a half hour conversation she called highly productive.

The Owens and Erika feud has been causing considerable discord within the conservative movement online as figures grapple with the decreasing influence of MAGA heading into the midterm elections and the aftermath of growing political violence globally. Kirk had also been pushing back lately, notably at a CBS town hall where she asked Owens to stop her onslaught on their family and company. But while Kirk’s pleas only garnered around 60,000 views, Owens was able to pull in 2.6 million views with her rebuttal to that very town hall. It’s an understatement to say Owens has thus far been controlling the narrative.
Prominent members of the conservative movement online have repeatedly called Owens a fraud and a charlatan. At a certain point, her unverified claims were useful because they targeted common “foes” of the MAGA movement. But as things continue to fragment, it’s becoming increasingly clear that, at the foundation of this movement, there are no shared values. After all, while Owens preaches family values, she still cozies up to the Tate brothers, who represent anything but that.
Ultimately, this outcome is still a good thing. It’s been a tumultuous end to the year, and the last thing politics needs right now is more feuds. Well, until Owens finds a new axe to grind with former friends.
