‘This isn’t the Republican Party anymore’: Don Jr confirms GOP is toast, is now the ‘Make America Great Again Party’

The Republican Party is over. Its replacement is worse.

Many Americans assumed they’d celebrate the day the Republican Party was no more. After all, for the last half-century and change, they’ve been one of the world’s most effective purveyors of evil and hatred, hammering the successful election strategy of terrifying poorly educated voters with racist nonsense while driving them into poverty and then making their corporate donors fabulously wealthy.

Now, apparently, the Republican Party is over. But don’t crack open the champagne just yet, as like the final boss in a Resident Evil game, it hasn’t died but merely mutated into a horrifying and disgusting new form.

Its arrival was heralded by everyone’s favorite failson Donald Trump Jr, who appeared at TPUSA to sound the death knell for the GOP:

Don Jr zeroed in on the RINOs (Republicans in name only) who produce “manufactured attacks on JD, myself, my father – anyone”. He went on to underline (to cheers from the crowd):

“This isn’t the Republican Party anymore. It’s the America First Party. It’s the Make America Great Again Party and we are not going back!”

Political cordyceps

In 2015, when it became apparent that Trump was serious about running to be the Republican candidate in the upcoming election, establishment Republicans dismissed him as a joke. At that stage, Jeb Bush looked like he’d sail through the primaries. Then Trump’s support began snowballing.

At first, the Republicans assumed they could control Trump and direct him at their enemies. That proved to be wishful thinking, and now, a decade later, Trump has fully metastasized and assimilated the party that took him in.

So, Don Jr is entirely correct when he pronounces that the Republican Party is dead. Sure, it might still exist on paper, but it’s been so entirely hollowed out and parasitized by Trump acolytes that it genuinely is something new. And, frankly, at least calling it the “Make America Great Again” party is more honest!

But what of those poor RINOs whose party has been stolen out from under them? Well, if you spend decades carefully constructing a voter base founded in ignorance, cruelty, and racism, you don’t get to act surprised when an ignorant, cruel, racist strolls along and steals them all away from you.
