Buckley Carlson went after Ben Shapiro on social media. He called the Daily Wire co-founder “truly repulsive” for telling young Americans who are struggling with money to move to another country. Buckley wrote that it’s hard to believe this is the same person who constantly lectures others about what the conservative movement should be.
“Hard to fathom this is the ‘man’ that presumes to lecture – endlessly, angrily – the ‘acceptable’ parameters of the ‘conservative movement, ’” Carlson wrote on X, according to HuffPost. Buckley Carlson is Tucker Carlson’s oldest son. He works as deputy press secretary for Vice President JD Vance.
He said Shapiro’s comments were especially bad because they targeted young Americans who can’t survive in today’s economy. He pointed out that Shapiro and his friends helped create this economy and still support it. Shapiro made these comments on a recent episode of the Triggernometry podcast. He said if young people can’t afford to live in America, they should just leave and live somewhere else.
The two conservative voices have been fighting for months
Tensions between Ben Shapiro and Tucker Carlson began to rise in October, following Carlson’s decision to host Nick Fuentes on The Tucker Carlson Show. Fuentes, a white nationalist who has described himself as a “proud incel,” has long been a controversial figure, and his appearance immediately drew backlash from critics across the political spectrum.
Shapiro responded forcefully after the episode aired, using his own platform, The Ben Shapiro Show, to criticize Carlson. He accused Tucker of legitimizing extremist views and didn’t mince words in his assessment, calling him an “intellectual coward” and a “terrible friend.” Shapiro went even further, claiming Carlson has turned into a conspiracist, a crank, and a pathological liar since his departure from Fox News in 2023.
The fight has now spread to Tucker’s family. Buckley’s angry response shows just how deep the divide has become between these two conservative figures. His post made it clear he thinks Shapiro’s advice to struggling young Americans is completely out of touch. Tucker himself has been making waves with his controversial Epstein claims that mainstream outlets avoided.
The argument highlights a growing split in conservative circles about how to address economic problems facing young people today. While some conservatives want to find solutions at home, others like Shapiro suggest leaving the country is a reasonable option. Tucker has previously clashed with Ted Cruz over foreign policy positions as well.
