‘Did you not learn from what just happened?’: ICE goons box in churchgoer’s car, threaten to execute him

In a way, it’s kind of funny that after literal decades of the right fantasizing about how they’d resist America turning into a police state, they’ve simply rolled over and let Trump’s Gestapo tickle their bellies while they praise them for repeatedly shooting an innocent woman in the face.

But in another, more important way, things in the United States are a living nightmare. Each day Donald Trump is dragging the nation further into dystopia, with Minneapolis currently dealing with legions of unaccountable, heavily armed masked morons enjoying “absolute immunity” to beat, detain, and murder them.

As a measure of what life is like in Minneapolis right now, see this disturbing video of a churchgoer who finds himself boxed in by ICE vans. A furious masked man yells in his face while his buddies nervously finger their firearms:

Chillingly, they tell him, “Did you not learn from what just happened?” This is a reference to their buddy executing innocent mother-of-three Renee Nicole Good last week, and a threat that if this civilian doesn’t comply with their demands, they’ll summarily execute him too.

They can kill you and get away with it

That might sound like hyperbole, but how else are we supposed to take these words? The “lesson” this churchgoer is supposed to have learned from Good’s murder is that ICE is trigger-happy, won’t lose any sleep over sending you back to your family in a coffin, and that they can do that with the full backing of President Trump.

Theoretically, all American citizens have their Constitutional rights to fall back on. But, well, without being too gloomy, we have to put a strong emphasis on “theoretically” right now. Sure, a year from now the legality of ICE’s actions may be tested in court, but that’s not going to be much consolation if by that point your mutilated corpse is six feet under.

What ICE wants you to do is look the other way when they throw a black bag over your neighbor’s head and drag them away screaming into a van. Just pretend it didn’t happen! So easy! Ignore that churning deep in your belly!

Maybe it’s already too late to drag America back from the dark path it’s heading down, but we have to hope there are enough people out there who still believe in the Constitution, the principles of the Founding Fathers and – heck – basic human decency to resist this overtly fascist takeover.
