DHS head Kristi Noem apparently still hasn’t realized she’s going to be Trump’s patsy when consequences inevitably arrive for ICE’s many crimes. She is the epitome of a useful idiot for the Trump administration, the perfect combination of cruelty, sociopathy, and oblivious stupidity.
Over the weekend, we saw cracks appear between Trump and Noem amidst the near-universal fury over the murder of ICU nurse Alex Pretti. Before Pretti’s body was cold, Noem insisted he “attacked” ICE agents while “brandishing” a gun.
Even for the Trump administration this was a lie too far, as video shot from multiple angles showed nothing of the sort. Trump ended up striking a conciliatory tone, leaving Noem on the defensive as she tried to pass the buck, saying: “Everything I’ve done, I’ve at the direction of the president and Stephen [Miller]“.
Oh yeah, go ahead Kristi, blame Trump to save yourself, let’s see how that works out for you. Anyhow, amidst calls from all sides of the political aisle for her to be sacked, Noem has tried to project strength by posing with a large rifle. The only problem was that she did this while aiming it at one of her goons’ heads.

“Absolute morons”
The conclusion from the experts: “Absolute morons with zero firearms knowledge”, “zero muzzle discipline”, “dangerous and untrained”, “reckless cosplay with a lethal prop”, and “it’s embarrassing to me as an American”.
Indeed. Somewhere out there, there’s an alternative universe where they’re currently experiencing the exciting news cycle of the Trump administration trying desperately to spin Noem blasting some ICE agent’s brains into the air. Oh, if only we just take a peek into what their headlines look like.
Fortunately, all signs point to Noem’s tenure in the DHS being abruptly curtailed. This wouldn’t be because she’s dangerously incompetent, because her leadership has trampled over the Constitution, or because her wild lies have put at least two innocent Americans in the dirt. No, she’ll be getting the boot because she’s making Trump look bad.
But, if that’s what it takes to get her tossed out of DC, we’ll take it.
