‘K.R.I.T. Wuz Here’ was one of my favorite albums of last year and held it down as the #6 spot on my top hip hop albums of 2010 list but instead of looking forward to new material, I’m actually very excited about this live revisit to that album.
‘K.R.I.T. Wuz Here (The Grillade Sessions EP)’ is a an upcoming EP with songs from the titular album re-recorded with a live R&B band called Grillade. Hip hop and live bands have always been intertwined in live shows and with bands like The Roots but with the soulful samples that were on the album, I think this is going to be something special. Just listen to a snippet of the song Something and tell me otherwise.
