Melania Trump described herself as a “visionary” at a White House event, held as part of Women’s History Month. The event, hosted by both President Donald Trump and Melania Trump, brought together working mothers and women leaders from fields ranging from athletics to government.
According to Mediaite, Melania took a moment to praise the women present for balancing careers and family life before speaking about her own creative philosophy. “As a visionary, I know success is not born overnight, but rather, takes shape after a long, and sometimes challenging process,” she told attendees.
She said that it is “in solitude” that her “creative mind dances,” filling her imagination with original ideas. She also stressed that “attention to detail, demanding schedules, and multi-tasking are everyday realities when building towards success,” applying this to her roles as a mother, humanitarian, philanthropist, and entrepreneur.
Melania’s documentary cost $75 million to make and market, but only brought in $7 million on opening weekend
Melania also spoke about her documentary film, Melania, saying she was deeply involved in its creative direction, production, post-production, and marketing. The film has not been without controversy either, as the dispute surrounding the film’s producer has drawn significant attention. It earned $7 million in its domestic opening weekend, against a reported production cost of $40 million and an additional $35 million spent on marketing by Amazon MGM.
She spoke about the role of curiosity in her career. “Curiosity is a core value that keeps me ahead of the curve,” she said, adding that it opens doors to new ideas and industries. This mindset, she explained, has led her to build ventures across fashion, digital assets, publishing, accessories, skincare, commercial television, and filmmaking.
She said that early lessons from brand building, product design, and advertising campaigns remain relevant today. “Markets and technologies change, but the fundamentals of thoughtful leadership and continuous learning,” she said, are “everlasting.” President Trump has also publicly praised Melania as one of the greatest First Ladies, pointing to the documentary as evidence, despite its poor box office performance.
Before introducing President Trump, whom she praised for showing “a strong commitment to promoting women in leadership roles,” she addressed the women in the room directly. “To all of the young women, entrepreneurs, and future leaders: Make time for yourself, educate yourself daily, and spread your passion,” she urged.
She closed her remarks by encouraging women to “be courageous and take risks,” to “advance your profession through inspiration,” and to “be a bold chief executive while keeping your family, if you choose so, at the center of our nation’s future.”
As expected, Melania’s speech prompted a lot of hilarious reactions online.”FIFA has to give her their new Visionary of the Year Award (limited to wives of American presidents while in office) !”: one person wrote. “marrying a sugar daddy is hardly visionary, its been going on for thousands of years,” another quipped.
