Miami TikToker says she wasn’t warned about her employer’s attendance policy. She was fired after arriving late on her first two days

A TikTok creator from Miami who goes by @bigsisrayy says she was let go from her new job after being late on both her first and second days of work. She shared the update in a video recorded from inside her car, which has drawn more than 435,600 views and over 18,400 likes.

The creator said she had previously told her followers she landed a new job and wanted to give them an update on how it was going. In the video, on-screen text reads, “I lost the job on the SECOND DAY.”

She explained that on her first day, she contacted her employer ahead of time to say she would be late because her driver’s license had been suspended and she needed to visit the DMV. She apparently arrived 30 minutes late that day.

She says she was only 10 minutes late on her second day

On her second day, the creator said she was running about five minutes late. She said the delay was because she was on her period and in pain, which made it hard for her to get out of bed. Despite this, she said she still showed up, looked presentable, and had everything she needed for work.

She estimated that by the time she was attempting to clock in, she was around 10 minutes late. According to her account, her manager then told her, “yeah, go ahead and clock out, you’re done.” In the video, she reacted with a shrug and a look of disbelief before saying, “I’m done, I’m cooked. Wow, this.”

She explained she didn’t think she needed to send a text updating her employer about the second-day delay, saying in the video, “It’s not their business.” She did not mention in the video whether her employer had given her any formal warning about attendance expectations before the firing. Workplace stories on social media have also involved confusion around a new job’s start.

The video’s comment section included a mix of reactions, with many users pushing back on the creator’s version of events.
