Charlotte woman’s suitcase sits with JetBlue for days. Her $4K Louis Vuitton shades and Gucci slides go missing, but the airline allegedly refuses to help

JetBlue delivered her bag, but left the Gucci behind

A Charlotte traveler is sharing her experience after claiming a delayed suitcase was returned with several expensive belongings missing.

The creator, known online as kenelimo, posted a video on TikTok describing what she says happened during a trip from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She claims her checked bag did not arrive with her flight and was returned days later with multiple designer items missing.

While the woman has not identified who she believes was responsible for the missing belongings, her account has drawn attention from other travelers concerned about checking valuable items. Similar complaints about airline handling of personal belongings have surfaced before, although each case has its own circumstances.

The suitcase that never made it to baggage claim

According to the creator, she usually flies with airlines like Delta or American Airlines but chose JetBlue because the flight schedule worked better for her trip. After landing in Fort Lauderdale, she says she waited at baggage claim while the conveyor belt continued running without her suitcase appearing.

She claims another passenger noticed several bags were missing from the same flight and suggested she speak with baggage services. At the JetBlue baggage office, she says staff asked her to name a few items inside the suitcase before telling her they could “possibly deliver it” to where she was staying.

Has this happened to anyone else?! 🚨 I flew with @JetBlue airlines for the first time and my experience was a complete nightmare. My bag and a few others bags was “left off” a flight from Charlotte, North Carolina to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Days later, I finally got the call to pick it up, only to find almost 4k worth of my belongings were missing. LV shades, 2 designer bags, 2 pairs of designer shoes, my Christian louboutin heels, my phone charger, Fashion Nova clothes, and even my makeup bag…gone. If you don’t already, please invest in a suitcase with a combination lock or use a carry on bag, if you have anything you care about in your luggage! #jetblue #airport #airlines #tsa #travel

However, she says the airline did not provide a clear timeline for when the luggage would arrive. Since she was only in Florida for three days, she says she had to buy replacement clothing while waiting, adding that it “pretty much ruined the whole trip.”

Two days later, she says JetBlue contacted her around 7:53 PM to say her suitcase had arrived. Rather than wait for delivery, she decided to pick it up herself after being told she could either have it delivered or “come to the airport to get it.”

After returning to her accommodation and opening the bag, she claims she discovered several belongings were missing, including Louis Vuitton sunglasses, Gucci slides, designer handbags, dresses and a makeup bag. She said, “half of my stuff is stolen,” claiming the missing items were worth around $4,000 in total.

She says she returned to the airport to report the missing items but was told she needed to file a claim online instead. According to her, the system showed she was outside the required timeframe because she had already collected the suitcase, despite only discovering the missing belongings after opening it.

She questioned why she was expected to inspect the bag immediately after receiving it, saying, “Who thinks to check their luggage at the airport when they get it from the airlines?”

JetBlue has not publicly commented on the creator’s claims, and there is no confirmed evidence identifying who, if anyone, removed the belongings. The woman acknowledged the uncertainty, saying, “I’m not sure who stole it,” while noting it “could have been” airport or airline employees or another party handling the bag.

The video also drew comments from other travelers. One commenter suggested changing luggage setups, writing, “Zipperless luggage, I’m gonna invest for sure!!! I’m so sorry this happened to you.”

Another user claimed they had experienced a similar situation and said, “This happened to me before and I got every dime back by filing a claim.”

Others questioned the baggage process. One commenter wrote, “I have never been asked to describe items in my bag. Did you tell them about any of the expensive items?”

Another person appeared to suggest taking legal action, commenting, “sue them their insurance company will call you before the court date.

For travelers, delayed luggage remains one of the more common frustrations associated with air travel, especially when passengers pack valuable belongings in checked bags, a concern that has surfaced in other viral travel stories involving passengers unexpectedly being separated from their luggage during flights. Airlines generally advise passengers to keep important documents, electronics, medication and expensive personal items in carry-on luggage whenever possible.

The creator’s account remains unverified, and it is unclear whether an investigation or reimbursement claim will lead to further action.
