A New Jersey woman is sharing an alleged disturbing encounter she says began with a routine gas station visit and ended with a stranger showing up outside her home.
TikTok creator Jillnanigans says the incident happened after she stopped for gas and noticed a man at the station who made her uncomfortable. She claims the same man later appeared near her home, blocked her driveway, and asked if she was single.
“I was followed home by a man from the gas station,” the woman begins, explaining why she decided to share the encounter with her followers.
The encounter she initially brushed off
According to the creator, she noticed two men at the station, including one person cleaning the window of a vehicle and another who appeared to be an employee. Since New Jersey drivers typically have attendants pump their fuel, she says she initially assumed the first man worked there.
However, the man’s behavior caught her attention when he stopped cleaning and walked in front of her car while the employee was approaching. She questioned why he chose that route, saying, “Why he decided to, like, walk in front of my car to do that, I really don’t know. But he didn’t have to do that. Like, he could have went behind me.” At the time, she did not view it as a serious concern.
According to the woman, the situation changed later when the same vehicle appeared near her home. Her house was only a few minutes away from the gas station and she drove home after waiting for traffic near a nearby train crossing.
When she arrived home, the woman recognized the same vehicle and questioned what was happening, explaining, “I’m in my driveway and I’m like, what the hell?” She claims the driver pulled up in front of her home, blocked her vehicle, and rolled down his window before asking, “Are you single?”
The driveway interaction was what she says changed the way she viewed the earlier encounter, as security footage has become a common way for people to document situations they say made them feel unsafe.
Looking back, the woman believes she noticed warning signs during the first encounter but initially dismissed them. Reflecting on the experience, the creator said she believes women often become familiar with those warning signs, explaining, “Unfortunately, as women, we are just accustomed to that. Creepy men. You get the vibe, and I just had the vibe.”
She later questioned why someone would feel comfortable approaching a stranger at their home after seeing them in public. “I wish that I could explain to men sometimes the actual entitlement and audacity of men to be able to think that that’s something that they can do,” she said.
The creator also clarified that she was not blaming all men, adding, “This is not all men. I’m not a man, man hater,” while explaining why she felt the situation was worth discussing.
She adds that security cameras around her property captured the interaction and that her community was able to identify the vehicle’s license plate information shortly after. She says the situation has since been handled.

She wanted the man to understand that his behavior crossed a boundary, explaining, “I showed that man that I was not scared and that he had absolutely zero entitlement to me or anywhere near my property.”
