A woman’s family dinner at Chili’s took an unexpected turn after she found undercooked chicken in her meal, according to a video she posted on TikTok. The clip, posted by user @beemackatinaa, has been viewed more than 203,100 times.
The TikTok video shows the woman dining with her children after choosing Chili’s over Applebee’s for the outing. She explained the choice was made because one of the children, Wyatt, wanted the Nashville hot mozzarella sticks from Chili’s menu.
The family ordered a Triple Dipper, which included Nashville Hot mozzarella sticks and Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers, along with a side of chips and salsa and a Cajun chicken pasta dish.
Chicken from the shared platter turned out to be undercooked
In the video, the woman is seen trying the different items from the meal. She first tastes the chips and salsa, calling it “Mommy’s appetizer” for the table, and then samples her Cajun chicken pasta with garlic bread. On-screen text noted that the pasta “was really good it was just cold but yummy.”
She also tried the Nashville Hot mozzarella sticks from the Triple Dipper, which she rated highly. On-screen text described them as “Soooo good!! 10/10.” The video shows her dipping a mozzarella stick in sauce and taking a bite, with the cheese stretching as she pulls it apart.
The issue arose when she moved on to the Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers, also part of the Triple Dipper. On-screen text stated, “These are really good but then I realized it wasn’t cooked.” After biting into a piece, she pulled it apart on camera to show the inside, which appeared raw and slimy.
In the video, she said, “The freaking chicken was raw, you guys. Do you see how it’s still slimy? And oh God, I bit that, you guys. I feel sick.” Such incidents have prompted scrutiny of meal preparation, as when a Vermont woman orders Chili’s Triple Dipper and checks the meal, immediately calling it unacceptable.
Despite the incident with the chicken, the video shows the family continuing with the meal. One of her children, identified as Zeze, is shown enjoying a skillet cookie dessert topped with ice cream and chocolate sauce. On-screen text noted, “Kids wanted dessert of course.”
The video closes with a shot of a Ziosk tablet at the table, showing a total bill of $34.15 with an option to split the check. On-screen text stated, “He wanted to do the trend but he didn’t want to ask in front of the kids.”
The video’s caption reads, “Watch me eat raw chicken and realized too late.” A separate line of on-screen text added, “I wanted Chicken Wonton Tacoss from Applebee’s!” referring to the restaurant she had originally wanted to visit. Raw chicken incidents can be alarming, as when a New Mexico woman bit into a Wingstop chicken tender and found something inside.
The video drew a range of reactions in the comments section, with some viewers questioning whether the chicken was actually undercooked and others sharing similar experiences at restaurants. One commenter wrote, “Raw chicken is ok to eat if the temp is above 160.” Another commenter argued, “It isn’t even pink. So it’s not raw. Chicken can’t be white and raw.”
Some viewers said they had changed their own ordering habits after similar experiences. One wrote, “I stopped eating the crispers because of this! They come chewy and almost raw its disgusting. I strictly only get boneless now.” Another commenter said, “This why I break them in half to check first everywhere I go.”
