A TikTok user who posts as Katie Kelly shared a video she framed as part of “a newly single girl’s guide to first dates.” In the clip, she said she went on a first date the night before with a man she described as a “big boy” who played football in college. Kelly said he was 6’4″, 240 pounds, and 30 years old.
Kelly stated that she knew those details because she asked him. She said she asked, “what do you weigh and how tall are you?” because those were “stats I’d like to know.” She said he then told her he did not know anything about her and asked how tall she was and how much she weighed. Kelly m answered because she did not care.
After she shared her weight, Kelly said the man told her, “Oh my God, I can literally bicep curl your body weight.” She said she answered, “no, you can’t.” Kelly described him getting angry and quoting him as saying, “F–k you talking about no, I can’t. You don’t know anything about me. Yes, I can. Don’t say that again.” The TikTok video, posted with the caption “I love going on first dates so i can come home and tell you about it.”
Kelly says the man later sent gym videos matching her exact weight
Kelly said she told him, “okay, okay, yes sir, my God,” but still maintained that he could not do it. She said she “was like married to the fact that he can’t do it.” She stated that the date then ended. The dynamics of first dates can be unpredictable, such as when a Houston woman ordered extra food and then told him why she needed it.
The next morning, Kelly said she woke up at 8 a.m. to two videos from the man in her text messages. She said he had gone to the gym before she was even up. Kelly claimed he found her exact body weight in dumbbell form. She said she had not given him a rounded number and that it was “kind of a weird weight.”
Kelly said he found someone at the gym and had that person record him bicep curling her body weight for reps. In the second video, she said he was bent-over rowing her body weight for reps. She stated that she watched both clips from the first rep to the last and that he did not cut the cameras. Kelly said he did both arms in both videos.
She said he sent the videos with “no context, nothing to say.” Kelly added, “’Cause that message was loud and clear, baby. I get exactly what you’re saying. I am picking it up and putting it down too!” In the video, she is shown sitting in a car in a bright pink T-shirt and making a bicep curl motion with her hand as she finishes the story.
Her video has gained 269,600 views, 30,700 likes, and more than 200 comments. Viewers responded to the clip in the comments. One commenter wrote, “I would have been more impressed if he picked you up right there and curled you.” Another wrote, “I fear I would no longer be single.”
A third commenter shared a similar story, writing, “My ex was 6’3 260 and was a D1 O-line player and when I told him I was heavy he sent me a video of him squatting reps of 700 lbs.” Others focused on the setup of the date itself. One wrote, “Newly single. First date. The irony.” Another wrote, “You challenged him. And he accepted.”
Some commenters questioned the account. One wrote, “I bet this never happened but good story.” Another simply wrote, “Why you yelling.” First dates can take unexpected turns, such as when a woman goes to a Tinder date and receives a set of rules from the man.
