D3Publisher has narrowed down their North American “winter” release window for Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable, confirming that they are planning to launch the port on the Vita sometime in February 2013.

With the inclusion of four-player online co-op and PvP, new levels, the playable Pale Wing character, and new weapons, EDF 2017 Portable looks to be a significant upgrade to the original 2007 game. At the very least it is another new title for the Vita, which is nothing but a good thing.

We will keep an eye out for a specific release date for Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable, and let you know as soon as D3Publisher gives us the high sign.
