Naomi Watts Joins J. Edgar

Big piece of casting news here. Actress Naomi Watts, as joined Leonardo DiCaprio in Clint Eastwood's upcoming J. Edgar Hoover biopic titled J. Edgar. Eastwood has already put together a fantastic cast that includes (aside from DiCaprio) Judi Dench, Josh Lucas, Armie Hammer and Ed Westwick. Now you can add Watts to that list. Watts is set to take the role that was offered to Charlize Theron. That role is Helen Gandy, Hoover's secretary for 54 years. Hoover has been quoted talking about Gandy and saying the following, “If there is anyone in this Bureau whose services are indispensable I consider Miss Gandy to be that person.” I don't know about you but I think this is a fantastic casting choice. Who doesn't love Naomi Watts?

I don’t know about you but I think this is a fantastic casting choice. Who doesn’t love Naomi Watts? She’s a great actress and has given some very solid performances in the past. I think she’ll make a great addition to the film and this news only excites me more. The film is shaping up really well and I’m eagerly anticipating the first trailer for it.
