Will Ferrell has committed to four episodes of the hit show The Office, according to Deadline. We are told that he will play a branch manager who comes from the home office and will be just as crazy and inappropriate as Steve Carell’s character Michael Scott.

Will is a big fan of the show and called the producers offering his support to help with Steve’s departure. Will and Steve have worked together in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and have remained close friends ever since. There is no word as of yet when the four episodes will air.

I for one hate to see Carell leave the show because I don’t see how it can last without his character. I am however glad to see someone as funny as Will Ferrell stepping in to help out and cannot wait to see these episodes.

The Office airs Thursdays at 9:00 P.M on NBC.
