Despite disastrous reviews and poor audience reception from the god awful post-production 3D conversion, the powers that be at Warner Bros have decided that Clash of the Titans has warranted a sequel. A couple of months back casting was out for new characters, one of those was Andromeda, a Greek princess who was sacrificed to a sea monster. This role has now found an actress in the form of Rosamund Pike, Deadline has reported.

Pike was formerly linked, along with other names, for a possible part as the lead in Zack Snyder‘s Superman reboot, that is now not probably happening. She will take over for Alexa Davlos, who starred in Louis Leterrier’s first film, and will join a cast which sees Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson, as well as Tony Kebbel and Edgar Ramirez joining as new additions.

Jonathan Liebesman is taking over directing duties and shooting should be set to begin pretty soon considering it has a tentative release date of March next year. Most likely will be lensing in 3D.
