Another intriguing bit of casting news has arrived today, Blue Valentine star Ryan Gosling will be starring in Warner Bros big new revamp of the classic 70’s sci-fi thriller Logan’s Run. Also interesting is that Nicolas Winding Refn, who has directed films such as Bronson and Valhalla Rising, has been signed onto direct the movie.
Deadline reports that both actor and director have signed for the movie which sees two indie players hitting the mainstream. Gosling is becoming more and more demanded as a Hollywood leading man and Refn is a very interesting if uncommercial filmmaker. He is replacing Carl Rinsch, an advert director who was originally signed on. The opportunity to work with Refn again has clearly enticed Gosling as they have recently just finished shooting a film called Drive which will be released later in the year.
