Rebecca Romijn will star in the previously titled series, King And Maxwell, about a private investigator duo along with Jon Tenney (The Closer). As if we need another investigator based series, TNT is set to deliver one this summer anyway.

Rebecca Romijn will star along with Jon Tenney (The Closer) in the previously titled series King And Maxwell, about a private investigator duo. The network has ordered ten episodes of the show from NCIS: LA executive producer Shane Brennan.

For those unfamiliar with the project, it revolves about two former Secret Service agents who have moved into the private sector. The characters are based on bestselling author David Baldacci’s creations and they have been described as not “the typical pair of private investigators.”

Although none of the details released so far particularly stand out, the one bit of shining news is that Ryan Hurst will co-star. Hurst is probably best known by fans as Opie Winston from the hit FX drama, Sons of Anarchy. In King and Maxwell, Hurst will play Edgar Roy, a high-functioning autistic savant who helps King and Maxwell with their cases on the new series. It’s no bad-ass biker, but fans will have to take what they can get.

Alongside Hurst, Michael O’Keefe (Michael Clayton) and Chris Butler (The Good Wife) are set to star in the crime drama. The two will play FBI agents that run into the former federal agents from time to time. The series will air on the TNT along with its number one ranking crime drama Rizzoli & Isles, which also centers around a two-lead investigatory team.

King And Maxwell was one of four pilots that the network was considering. TNT announced that it has passed on the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Trooper, but no word on either the Michael Bay-produced The Last Ship or the Howard Gordon-produced Legends. We’ll keep you posted if we hear anything more.

Are you excited to see Rebecca Romijn back on network television? How about Jon Tenney’s return to TNT? Let us know.
