Summit Entertainment has released a new poster for Jonathan Levine’s Warm Bodies, featuring a propaganda style and the slogan “Zombies Need Love 2.”

So far the promotion for this film has been excellent. The trailers have been great, but what has really blown me away has been the posters for the film. As a big fan of quality movie art, I’ve found it very impressive that each poster released has looked better than the last, and all of them are impressive enough to garner a spot on my wall. This latest is no exception.

Warm Bodies is based on a novel by Isaac Marion and tells the story of a zombie, R, who falls in love with a human girl after eating her boyfriend’s brain and absorbing his memories. As the story goes on, R becomes increasingly more human setting off a chain of events that begins to transform many of the undead.

R is played by Nicholas Hoult who has shown a knack for roles where something is standing in his way of getting the girl. It’s been as simple as being an awkward tween (About A Boy) or as crippling as being a blue-haired mutant (X-Men: First Class), but the most difficult has to be picking up a girl as a zombie. In a recent interview Hoult dished on the challenge of playing a zombie. Check out his quote below.

“(Being a zombie) Narrows down your options and what you have to do at work, and not a lot of dialogue to learn, which is beautiful. But yeah, I read the script and I was like, ‘This could be a cool film,’ and then I was like, ‘Oh, it’s kind of tricky, though, isn’t it? You don’t get to say a lot, and you’ve got to move and act like a zombie, but you’ve also got to have this audience care for you and want you to succeed and have this girl care for you enough and fall for you, and there’s a lot to do.’ With Teresa, it was just basically watching her do scenes the whole time, her just doing monologue after monologue and then I’d go, ‘Yeah, keep you safe. Hungry. Eat, whatever.'”

Hoult also talked about why this film appealed to him more than traditional rom-coms.

“I mean, I’m a sucker for a rom-com. You know, you feel good and you get all gooey. But I wouldn’t want to do one of those ones that’s very run-of-the-mill, out of the box, off you go, pay $10 to go and see it and then sit there and nothing new happens. So it’s tricky. I’d like to be able to do all types of films. Action, drama, romance, all of them.”

Despite not being your traditional romantic film, it may not be a bad idea to wait until Valentine’s Day to see this one. It seems like a much better date movie than A Good Day To Die Hard and possibly even Safe Haven. That’s assuming of course that your date is cool enough to enjoy a rom-zom instead of a typical chick flick.

What do you think of this new Warm Bodies poster? Are you excited to see Hoult star as a zombie? Check out the poster below and then head to the comments section to share your thoughts.
