First Look At Insidious: Chapter 2

Insidious is one of my favourite horror films, ever. James Wan's indie hit is a truly scary film and one of the few movies out there that scared me not only the first time, but on repeat viewings as well. Luckily, it was also a huge success with critics and at the box office, meaning we're getting a sequel. Set for an August release date, Insidious: Chapter 2 is currently in production and today, we have the first behind the scenes photo.

Insidious is one of my favourite horror films of all time. James Wan’s indie hit is truly frightening and one of the few movies out there that scared me not only the first time, but on repeat viewings as well. Luckily, it was also a huge success with critics and at the box office, which means we’re getting a sequel. Set for an August 30th release date, Insidious: Chapter 2 is currently in production and today, we have the first behind the scenes photo.

Obviously, plot details are still thin but we do know that shooting is underway in Los Angeles and the Leigh Whannell screenplay picks up right where the first film ended, with Josh (Patrick Wilson) discovering that he’s possessed. It’s anyone’s guess as to where the story can or will go from there but I have full faith in the Wan and Whannell.

The photo above was Tweeted by Wan and accompanied by the following text: “You need lots of candles for hypnosis. #day4of25”  Unfortunately, that doesn’t give us anything to go on, aside from the fact that Dalton, played by Ty Simpkins in the film, will be undergoing hypnosis. With an August release date though, you can expect a lot more details to start spilling out in the near future. A trailer would be great, as would an official plot synopsis. We’ll just have to sit tight though until we get more.

As I mentioned above, Insidious is a great film and an absolutely brilliant piece of horror. It was so simple yet so effective and it really delivered in the scares and chills department. Whannell and Wan are a talented duo, they know what made the first film so successful and I have no doubt that they will give us something equally as haunting with Insidious: Chapter 2.

Insidious: Chapter 2 will open on August 30th, 2013. Are you excited for the film? Did you enjoy the first one? Let us know in the comments below.
