Splinter Cell: Blacklist Wii U Pops Up On Developer Resume

Employees in the video game development industry have a tendency to be extremely hard core about keeping their online resumes up-to-date with all the latest projects they have worked on, and God bless their little hearts for being so obsessive compulsive about it! After all, if they had even the slightest bit of self-control over their impulse to provide continuous updates to their LinkedIn profiles, we wouldn't hear about things like the Wii U version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist until Ubisoft was ready to announce it.

Employees in the video game development industry have a tendency to be extremely hard core about keeping their online resumes up-to-date with all the latest projects they have worked on, and God bless their little hearts for being so obsessive compulsive about it! After all, if they had even the slightest bit of self-control over their impulse to provide continuous updates to their LinkedIn profiles, we wouldn’t hear about things like the Wii U version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist until Ubisoft was ready to announce it.

This latest leak comes from the resume of Ubisoft Line Designer Pascal Allancon, who noted that he is responsible for the content of “Splinter Cell: Blacklist (360, PS3, WiiU, PC/2013)”. Shortly after the discovery was made public Allacon jumped online and took out all references to the unannounced Wii U version, but not before GoNintendo was able to grab the screenshot pictured above.

Adding credibility to Pascal Allancon’s original resume — not that we don’t trust him, because we totally do — is the LinkedIn profile of Ubisoft game tester Robin Dhar (spotted by Joystiq), who also suggested that a Wii U version of Blacklist was in the works.

Officially, Splinter Cell: Blacklist has only been announced for an August 20th launch on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Ubisoft’s marketing teams have yet to confirm Splinter Cell: Blacklist for the Wii U (I’m sure they are extremely busy right now checking and demanding edits to Ubisoft employee resumes), so all of this should be considered a rumor until something official is announced.

With that said, it’s a good bet that Ubisoft is working on a Wii U port of the game, and I’m frankly a little surprised/impressed that they are. When the Rayman Legends port/delay was announced, I assumed that the company’s line about wanting to release games across as many platforms as possible was just an excuse to move the game off the Wii U exclusive list. However, now that a Wii U version of Watch Dogs and (potentially) Splinter Cell: Blacklist has appeared, I guess it wasn’t just a bunch of PR spin.

We will keep an eye out for Ubisoft’s official confirmation of Splinter Cell: Blacklist for the Wii U and let you know as soon as anything is announced.
