The impressive cameo roster for Anchorman: The Legend Continues has added comedy’s current hot tickets, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to the mix. They’ll join a ton of Hollywood’s finest in making a brief appearance in the sequel. Director Adam McKay has revealed that the two actresses are on board but no news yet on the roles they’ll play. Their performances were captured during a shoot taking place in a park. Bonkers park rangers, maybe?

New photos show Fey and Poehler (or people who look suspiciously similar to them from the back) on set, and Will Ferrell battling Jaws! Yes, the big guy himself enters into a fight with a toothy killer of the deep. Could this be to rival the bear enclosure hilarity of the first outing? See for yourself in the photos below.

Further rumours have dropped as well that Sacha Baron Cohen may be making an enemy of Ron Burgundy as a rival anchor. Add to that more speculation that Will Smith could have a part, and the film is skyrocketing into the realms of “best comedy ensemble” since…well, the first Anchorman.

So far we know that Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman, Dylan Baker, Kristen Wiig, John C. Reilly, James Marsden, Meagan Good, Josh Lawson and Greg Kinnear have shot small roles and there’ll no doubt be more that’ve been kept under wraps. They join Anchorman alumni Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate, David Koechner, Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson.

There’s not been a lot of details offered about the plot but we do know that the sequel will catch up with the gang from the original a few years later. After the 24-hour news cycle comes into effect, they must adapt to beat their competitors. We know musical numbers will emerge too, as Anchorman: The Legend Continues was originally conceived as a Broadway play.

When more news arises, we’ll be sure to let you know. For now though, check out the photos below and let us know what you think of the recent casting additions.
