In preparation for their upcoming DLC, Konami and the team at Platinum Games released a new trailer for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance showcasing some of the features of the third downloadable content. Much like the Jetstream Sam DLC released last month, players take control of another character from the newest entry of the Metal Gear series, this time it is the robotic dog LQ-84i, or Blade Wolf.

The chainsaw wielding robot canine appears to be controlled much like the game’s main protagonist Raiden, with high mobility and devastating combos. As always the game features the ability to slice your fellow cyborg opponents to bits via its “Blade Mode,” allowing you to perform a Zandatsu, which has you steal the energy cores from fallen enemies to power yourself back up. In addition, Blade Wolf appears to have the ability to shoot projectiles from his tail and apparently play with a cat.

The story of this DLC appears to deal with events taking place before and during Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance’s main story, with much of the dialogue occurring between Blade Wolf and one of the game’s main bosses, Mistral. The trailer also teases us with a new boss who uses a giant mechanical suit along with a rocket powered chainsaw axe. Oddly enough, the design of this new boss looks quite similar to the character Big Bull used in Platinum Games’ other titles: Madworld and Anarchy Reigns. Finally, players can expect some new VR missions for Blade Wolf to tackle if you want to be challenged further.
