Anchorman: The Exhibit To Open A Month Before Anchorman: The Legend Continues

This latest move by Paramount Pictures puts the pre-release marketing efforts of Bryan Singer to shame! The studio has announced via the Anchorman Facebook page, that prior to the release of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues an exhibit will launch in Washington D.C. This latest move by Paramount Pictures puts the pre-release marketing efforts of Bryan Singer to shame! The studio has announced via the Anchorman Facebook page, that prior to the release of Anchorman: The Legend Continues an exhibit will launch in Washington D.C. This is undoubtedly a brilliant move by Paramount who have ventured far outside of the box to promote the upcoming sequel.

Set to launch in D.C., the exhibit will be a co-production between the studio and the Newseum. In preparation for the Christmas release of the follow-up, on display will be a number of props, costumes and footage from the 2004 original Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy. Included in the exhibit will be Burgundy’s jazz flute and the whip used during the fight between the rivalling news squads.

The Newseum is a huge attraction in D.C., a massive museum dedicated to the history of news through interactive exhibits. Anchorman: The Exhibit will certainly be getting hands on. Visitors will be able to embody their favourite characters from the flick, get in front of the camera and film their own Anchorman-themed TV spot. That’s not all…those clips will be preceded by a personal introduction from Ron Burgundy himself. Something to show the grandkids eh? That’s a unique piece of film memorabilia right there. A personalised Anchorman video. Worth the price of admission alone, we reckon.

If you don’t fancy being captured on film, there’ll also be a replica of the KVWN-TV news desk. Fans can take photos and fool around re-creating gags from the original. Expect the exhibit to be filled with the echoes of classic Burgundy one-liners.

When Burgundy was asked about his thoughts on the exhibit, he told reporters:

“I’m literally trapped in a glass case of emotion.”

Anchorman: The Exhibit opens at The Newseum, Washington D.C. on November 14th 2013 and runs until August 31st 2014.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues opens in cinemas on December 20th.
