The slow, exciting trickle of news about Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer continues apace, with this fresh juicy nugget. A nugget consisting of seven faces, seven very different but equally beautiful faces, all ripe for our consumption. The newly revealed character posters, besides the already-known Chris Evans, feature those played by Octavia Spencer, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Ko Asung, Ewen Bremner, and Song Kang-ho.

No characters names are known yet, just the actors who will be playing them, but it’s still an extremely impressive cast list. John Hurt adds weight to any film he appears in, Ewen Bremner is brilliant in absolutely everything, and Song Kang-ho has starred in Sympathy for Mr Vengeance and the criminally underrated Korean vampire film Thirst. Each of the characters posters can be seen below:

Snowpiercer gets better and better with each revelation, and to call it one of the most anticipated films of the year would be a giant stupid understatement, and typical of something you’d say.

But wait, there’s more. We also have a poster for the film proper – one that puts the action and the cast in better context:

It’s got everything, atmosphere-wise – a touch of concentration camp which, when combined with being set on a train, will definitely prickle a few hairs on release. The addition of Ed Harris at the end there of the credits on the main poster is interesting too, as he’s not been shown yet. Is his character the antagonist? Almost certainly.

When is Ed Harris ever the good guy? Will he be the eponymous Snowpiercer, supervillain, in what will turn out to be another dumb superhero movie? Answers below.
