At their E3 2013 press conference today, Ubisoft showed a new trailer for the hotly anticipated Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

Though no gameplay was shown in this preview, what we saw was definitely exciting and gave us a good taste of what to expect with the pirate themed entry into this extremely successful series. Epic naval battles and some swift swordplay were the highlight but everything shown was very impressive.

Then, just before the presentation ended, Ubisoft showed off some direct gameplay footage from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Acting as a montage set to cheesy music, the footage gave us a good mix of the various activities you’ll find yourself partaking in during your time with the game.

Promising to deliver a “brutal pirate experience,” we get a look at the naval battles, some of the combat, a few of the areas that we’ll get to explore and more. Ubisoft also told us that the game will give you the ability to board ships, go on treasure hunts, raid coves and conquer forts, among other things.

Check out both videos below.
