Hot on the heels of the The Fast And The Furious franchise, comes another film set to get petrolheads everywhere rather excited. A joint effort from Dreamworks and  game company EA, Need For Speed scrambles aboard the speeding bandwagon and piles a ton of acting talent into the driver’s seat. The film’s release is some way away, so get yourself acquainted with this behind the scenes featurette below.

Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul takes the wheel as a street racin’ ex-con who was wrongly incarcerated. Out to get revenge on the guys who put him in the slammer he takes to the streets. In a really fast car. The sneak peek here looks like he’s having the time of his life, living out all those schoolboy fantasies of chasing after baddies in a slammin’ hot ride. A reprieve for the actor who has spent many an hour embroiled in the seedy meth underworld as Bad‘s Jesse Pinkman.

Featuring a commentary from director Scott Waugh, in does in fact appear that they’re all having an absolute riot! And who can blame them? Fast cars, explosions, it’s the stuff of which boyhood dreams are made. As a video game adaptation there’s obvious reluctance from both the gaming and film community. Will it succeed where others VG adaps have crashed and burned? We’ll have to wait until next March to find out.

Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, muscle car mechanic and street racer Tobey (Aaron Paul) gets out of prison determined to settle the score with the man responsible for his false conviction. Tobey tears up the road in a gritty cross-country journey— one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption. DreamWorks Pictures’ “Need for Speed” is directed by Scott Waugh (“Act of Valor”), and also stars Dominic Cooper, Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malek, Imogen Poots, Dakota Johnson and Scott Mescudi.

Need For Speed opens in cinemas March 14th, 2014.
