Mario Kart 8 Announced For Wii U

As promised in earlier statements, Nintendo has confirmed Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U during today's Nintendo Direct streaming conference. Other than a nice new high-def coat of paint, new features look to include more futuristic vehicles and the ability to drive on walls and upside down with apparent gravity-changing elements. Returning features include hang gliders from Mario Kart 7 and motorcycles from Mario Kart Wii. Miiverse integration and online play were also confirmed.
