Sam Raimi, director of such films as the ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy and ‘Drag Me to Hell’ has announced the newest project he is attached to. Raimi is set to direct ‘Warcraft’, an epic fantasy/adventure based on the popular video game series. Raimi only decides to direct films from which he feel passionate about, as well as a connection towards and ‘Warcraft’ is one of those films. Sam Raimi is long time player of the extremely successful game ‘World of Warcraft’ and has fallen in love with the world that Blizzard Entertainment has created.
The film is still in the early stages of development. There is a 40 page script but it’s far from finished. ‘Warcraft’ will take place in the universe of the game and include a number of the characters that we enjoy so much. The film is directed to a massive audience as almost 11 million people have account subscriptions to the game and they will undoubtedly see this film.
‘Warcraft’ is set to release some time in 2013.
